The Strood South councillor was elected in May 2015 and was Ukip's deputy leader in Medway.

Her husband Mark Reckless, the former Ukip MP for Rochester and Strood and himself a former Medway Tory councillor, was elected to Welsh Assembly for South Wales East in May this year.

His defection to Ukip in 2014 sparked a by-election which he won but he lost the seat to the Conservative candidate Kelly Tolhurst in last year's general election.
