Police cordon off Windmill Street in Gillingham after a man was stabbed

Two teenagers have been remanded in custody following a stabbing in Gillingham on New Year’s Day.

It comes after officers were called to Windmill Road at about 2.50am on January 1 following reports of a stabbing.

A 28-year-old man from Gillingham is still in a critical condition at Medway Maritime Hospital.

Stuart Porter, 18, of Buttermere Close in Gillingham, has been charged with GBH and has been remanded in custody.

A 17-year-old from Strood, who cannot be identified, has been charged with the same offence and both are due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on January 10.
