Three car crash on M2 causing congestion

Police and firefighters were called to a car fire after three vehicles collided on the M2.

The incident happened at around 9am on the London-bound carriageway between junction two for Strood and three for Rochester and Chatham.

A fire service spokesman said: "Firefighters were called to a car fire following a three-vehicle crash on the M2 London-bound between junctions 2 and 3.

"There were no reported injuries. Crews assisted police in making the scene safe."

The road had reopened by 10.30am and delays took another hour to clear.
