Firefighters have issued a warning during this hot weather spell after a little girl had to rescued from a locked car.

A crew from Rochester fire station were called out to help free the two-year-old girl after she accidently got locked inside a VW Passat at about 3pm yesterday, in Raleigh Close, Princes Park, Chatham.

Because the keys had accidentally been locked inside the car, firefighters had to break a window to get the girl out she was getting hot because of the sunny weather.

“The little girl was a little distressed, but we soon got her out and she was fine and happy and smiling and the carer was very graceful for our efforts.”
