Three dealers stopped by police in a Mercedes in Chatham had drugs haul and knife

Three drug dealers have been locked up after police seized heroin, cocaine, cannabis and a large knife when they stopped a silver Mercedes in Medway.

The vehicle, containing Ryan Fuller-Brent, Dapo Obadare and Matthew Banjo, was stopped in July last year in Chatham, after patrols witnessed it running a red light.

After the driver, Fuller-Brent, 20, pulled over police searched the car and a number of mobile phones, an amount of cannabis, cash, and the knife were taken from the vehicle.

A search of 25-year-old Obadare, of Southend Lane in Catford, London, uncovered wraps of cocaine and heroin and a 4.5-gram lump of heroin.

Banjo, 19, of Steven Close in Chatham, attempted to evade arrest after getting out of the Mercedes.

He jumped over several walls before officers arrested him.

DC Stuart Clayton, who investigated the crimes, said: “Banjo, Obadare and Fuller-Brent are hardened drug suppliers, intent on making illicit gains by pumping poison into the local community and taking advantage of vulnerable people.

“Kent Police takes the movement and supply of drugs in the county very seriously and works constantly to ensure those who break the law are brought before the courts.”
