Two-car crash on Wainscott bypass

A crash caused delays on the Wainscott bypass during this morning's rush hour traffic.

The two-car collision happened at about 7.15am and caused delays for motorists trying to get through the Medway Tunnel.

No serious injuries were reported and police and firefighters from Rochester and Strood were called to the scene to help.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof from one car and help free a man.

The man was transferred on to a long board and passed in to the care of SECAmb.

A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called at 7.17am.

“Officers were sent to the scene alongside the South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Kent Fire and Rescue Service.”
