Police charge pair from London with 10 offences after officers pursue car in Luton Road, Chatham

Two people have been charged with 10 offences including dangerous driving and supplying drugs after a police chase in a town centre.

Officers on patrol became suspicious of a vehicle being driven in Chatham at around 10.25am on Monday.

A chase then ensued after the Medway Local Policing Team requested a car in the Luton Road area to stop as they believed it was speeding.

The vehicle is then reported to have failed to stop and was followed, before coming to a stop near Chatham High Street, where both suspects were arrested and a quantity of suspected Class A drugs located.

Cheyenne Williams, 20 and of Mitcham Road in Croydon, has since been charged with, possessing cocaine with intent to supply, possessing heroin with intent to supply, acquiring criminal property, dangerous driving, failing to stop when asked by a police officer, driving without a licence, and driving without insurance.

She has been bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, July 11.

Keanan Mitchell, 20, and of Markhouse Road in Walthamstow, has been charged with, possession cocaine with the intent to supply and possessing heroin with intent to supply and acquiring criminal property.

He appeared before Medway magistrates on Tuesday, June 12, and was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court, on Tuesday, July 10.
