Two fires in Medway

A shed on allotments was destroyed in a fire early this morning (Friday). A crew from Medway fire station went to the allotments in Magpie Hall Road, Chatham, shortly after midnight, where they found the shed well alight.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service, said: “The shed was just flames when we arrived. We are not sure how the fire started, but the shed has been destroyed, we were on the scene for about 30 minutes.”

A team of firefighters from Strood dealt with a rubbish fire on Medway City Estate yesterday evening.
They were called out to Arnolde Close at about 9pm where they found the fire had spread to other rubbish nearby.
