Armed police were deployed to a terraced street in Chatham this afternoon after reports a gun was seen.

Police were called to Ordnance Street at 2.45pm and arrested a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman on suspicion of possession of firearms.

They are in police custody.

Witnesses say there were five armed officers at the scene. Five police vehicles were seen with three squad cars and two unmarked BMW cars.
