Van completely destroyed by fire in Gun Lane, Strood

A van was completely destroyed in a blaze in Strood last night.

A crew from Strood fire station were called to Gun Lane at around 11pm after a car caught light on a driveway.

The heat from the blaze had started to melt the front door to the house and crack its windows.

Firefighters were called to Albatross Avenue, Strood, just after 6.45pm.

The van was completely destroyed.

Crew manager Kev Mitton, said: "If it hadn't have been for the rapid actions of my crew it could have easily started a house fire."
