Strood mum's Facebook warning after stranger tries to get into her car

An online warning about a stranger trying to get into a woman’s car has been shared more than 5,000 times.

Mum Carrie Blackburn posted on Facebook yesterday evening after a man tried to open her car door while she was waiting at a set of traffic lights in Strood.

She was at the junction of Watling Street and Rede Court Road at 8.20pm when she saw a man in a grey tracksuit at the side of the road.

She said: “He had his hood up and it was pulled round his face. I looked at him and he made me feel really uncomfortable. Instinct kicked in and I just flicked the door lock on my car.

"I saw him speed up to my car and he started trying my passenger door he couldn’t open it but carried on trying getting more aggressive.

“I drove off towards the turning and he ran off to Rede Common. He was definitely trying to get in my car this was no accident.

"Please warn everyone you know as this could have been a very different outcome.”

Her post has been shared more than 5,500 times.

The man is described a white, slim build and in his 20s. He had a lightly coloured beard and was wearing a light grey tracksuit with paint on it.

Police have been informed.
