Hundreds of boy band fans flocked to Rochester Castle last night to see Westlife idol, Shane Filan on stage.
The group's former lead singer was one of four acts which appeared at the Castle Concerts gig.
Before the Irish hearthrob wooded the ladies with some of the band’s best known hits, the crowds were treated to some fantastic performances by three TV talent show successes.
Medway’s own Jamie Johnson. a finalist in The Voice, was first on stage and performed several well-known tracks including Kings of Leon’s Sex on Fire, and Stevie Wonder’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered, which really go the crowd in the mood.
After his set it was the turn of Britain’s Got Talent’s Jack Pack, who belted out some swing including renditions of Frank Sinatra’s My Way and New York, New York which went down well the the crowd.
X Factor winner Sam Bailey, who is heavily pregnant got the crowds up and dancing when she performed her number one song Skyscraper.
She also used her powerhouse voice on ballads Jennifer Rush’s The Power of Love and Oleta Adams’ Get Here, which she dedicated to X Factor judge Gary Barlow - or Gazza as she called him.
Then it was time for former Westlife singer Shane Filan to woo the ladies at the front of the stage.
He sold more than 45 million records worldwide as part of a boy band and this was his first solo open air concert in Britain.
And he didn’t disappoint, getting the crowds going by singing Uptown Girl, Flying Without Wings, You Raise Me Up and What About Now along with covers of recent chart-toppers.
UB40, who are appearing their tonight, has sold out, but there is still time to book tickets for the Castle Proms tomorrow evening.
