Woman collapses in Rochester

A woman has died after she collapsed in the street.

The Kent Air Ambulance was called by land crews who attended the scene at the bottom of Star Hill, Rochester, at about 1.40pm on Thursday, March 4.

The air ambulance landed in nearby Jackson’s Field.

It is not clear what happened to the woman but she died later in hospital. She has been named locally as Louise Platt, from Rochester. She is thought to be around 40 years old.

Police closed off one lane of the road to enable paramedics to treat her.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “We were called to the area to assist with the traffic.

“Officers closed one lane to enable paramedics to get the woman on the air ambulance.”
