Gillingham woman Leonie Granger faces sentence for gambler’s manslaughter

A care worker from Gillingham has been jailed for 16 years for killing a professional gambler in a so-called 'honey trap' plot.

Leonie Granger, 25, of Balmoral Road, was convicted earlier this month of manslaughter after the death of professional gambler Mehmet Hassan.

The Old Bailey heard Mr Hassan, 56, was targeted after being spotted flashing a roll of £50 notes at a casino in London.

Granger went to his flat with him but made an excuse and left, leaving the door open for her boyfriend Kyrron Jackson and his friend Nicholas Chandler, who have been found guilty of murder.

The jury cleared Granger of murder but convicted her of manslaughter by a majority of 10-2 and conspiracy to falsely imprison.
