Former TOWIE star Mark Wright missed brother Josh Wright's hat-trick for Gillingham

Josh Wright won’t mind his brother missing a few more games.

While he was bagging a nine-minute penalty hat-trick against Scunthorpe, brother Mark was taking in the action at non-league Billericay.

Former TOWIE star Mark has been a regular visitor to Priestfield, supporting the Gills and brother Josh, but he missed the big game on Saturday.

It wasn’t the first time he’s missed the scoring exploits of his younger brother.

“I can’t think off the top of my head if he has been at any games that I have scored at,” said 27-year-old Josh.

“He may have done but if he has got to stay away and I keep scoring, then happy days.

“He usually plays himself on a Saturday but he knows the Billericay guys and he showed some local support to them on Saturday.”

Mark Wright was watching as former Gills man Paul Konchesky helped his new side beat Burgess Hill 4-0 in the Ryman League, Premier Division.

Back in Kent, Josh took his goal tally for the season to 12 with an unforgettable flurry to turn a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 win.

“He hasn’t believed the way I have been scoring this season but he is delighted for me,” said Josh, who only scored once in 44 games last season.

“He is such a supportive guy and we are close. We are best mates, we love each other to bits and he will be chuffed. He knows I need to keep working hard to keep doing well.”

Josh Wright missed the defeat against Bolton on Tuesday through suspension and will also be out for the weekend trip to Rochdale, having picked up his 10th yellow card of the season last weekend for his excessive goal celebration.
