Bradley Dack has been named League 1 player-of-the-year.

The Gillingham midfielder beat Swindon's Nicky Ajose and Walsall man Romaine Sawyers in a vote of League 1 managers.

He collected his prize at the Football League Awards ceremony in Manchester on Sunday night and was also named in the overall team-of-the-season, made up of players from all three divisions.

Dack, 22, won the League 1 award after scoring 13 goals and setting up nine in Gills' promotion push.

He said: "Obviously it’s a massive honour and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help of my team-mates and the manager.

"Our main aim is to get promoted but I’m delighted to have won this award in the process."

Team-of-the-season: Smith (Northampton), Bruno (Brighton), Morgan (Wigan), Ayala (Middlesbrough), Friend (Middlesbrough), Judge (Brentford), Dack (Gillingham), Barton (Burnley), Roofe (Oxford), Ajose (Swindon), Gray (Burnley). Manager: Wilder (Northampton).
