Michael Doughty will be a welcome addition for the Gills this weekend.

The QPR loanee sat out last weekend’s trip to Bradford following his dismissal the previous week against Leyton Orient.

Gills boss Peter Taylor is happy to have the midfielder back available for selection on Saturday against Port Vale.

He said: “I am pleased he is back. He has done well for us. He is calm on the ball, wants the ball and has helped us play and get some confidence.

“I was disappointed he couldn’t start last Saturday against Bradford but delighted he is back.”

Midfielder Aaron Morris (hamstring) is now back on course after a recent setback.

Morris is back working at the training ground and doing some running and could be pushing for a return next weekend.

Joe Martin serves the final game of his three-game ban this weekend, following his dismissal against Crawley in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

"It's up to us to keep fans on side," says Peter Taylor. Read the story in Friday's Medway Messenger newspaper.
