Ady Pennock's Gillingham take on Chris Kinnear's Dover Athletic at Crabble in pre-season

Gillingham are set to rotate their starting XI for the trip to Dover Athletic on Saturday.

Head coach Ady Pennock is planning to name the eleven players who finished Tuesday night’s friendly at Dartford from the off at Crabble.

It will be Gillingham’s third pre-season match of the summer.

Those starting are set for an hour and the second XI, who started at Dartford, will finish the game for the final half hour.

The Gills beat Dartford 2-1 on Tuesday and emerged injury free.

Pennock said: “It was another good run-out.

“I wanted one team to play an hour and another to do 30. I have been in friendly games where you take two off and then four off and another two, I just wanted to take the whole eleven off and I think that worked.

“This Saturday the lads who played 30 will get an hour and vise versa.

“There was some good football played and it was played in the right way. The main thing again was that there was no injuries and I thought the fitness levels were good.”

Alex Lacey (knee) and Tom Eaves (groin) both missed the midweek match as a precaution while Aaron Morris (knee) will miss out again.

Gillingham will again include several trialists who are set to learn their fate after the weekend.

National League side Dover, meanwhile, are set to show off their new summer signings on home turf for the first time.

In action will be Femi IIesamni, Tobi Sho-Silva, Ryan Bird, Manny Parry, Jamie Allen, Kane Richards and Mitch Brundle after a busy summer of recruitment for Whites boss Chris Kinnear.

Former Gills defender Connor Essam is also back with the Whites this season on a permanent deal. Aussie defender Giancarlo Gallifuoco could feature after joining the club on Wednesday.

Admission prices for Saturday’s game are £10 adults and £5 for concessions.
