Invicta Dynamos make Michal Benadik their ninth summer signing

Slovakian defenceman Michal Benadik has joined the Invicta Dynamos.

The 28-year-old import arrives with Elite League experience after making 123 appearances for the Edinburgh Capitals.

He has also recently been playing for MsHK Prievidza in his home country and head coach Kevin Parrish is delighted to add such an experienced recruit to the 2015/16 roster.

Parrish said: “He joins us having played in the Slovak 1.liga, Romania’s top tier and here in the Elite League and to have a CV like that at our club will certainly prove invaluable.

“He’s big and strong, will work hard both in the corners and in front of his own net and, having been an out and out defenceman throughout his career, will certainly be looking after his own end before he looks to the offensive zone.

“That’s something we’ve perhaps been missing at the Mos in recent seasons.”

Benadik fills one of the two non-EIHA trained players permitted. Another is due in the coming weeks.

His arrival, Mos’ ninth of the summer, follows the arrival of Scottish D-man Andrew Henderson.

The 17-year-old arrives following time at the Ontario Hockey Academy in Canada.
