Gillingham will need to replace in-form loan striker John Marquis for their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie.

The 22-year-old is cup-tied for Gills’ area final trip to Bristol City after appearing for Cheltenham earlier on in the competition.

Ironically it was Bristol City who dumped Marquis and Cheltenham out of the competition back in early October, winning 3-1.

Luke Norris and Brennan Dickenson will be vying for the spot alongside Cody McDonald in Thursday night’s televised match.

The winners will face Walsall at Wembley on Sunday, March 22.

Striker Antonio German is a doubt after injuring his foot in Monday night’s Kent Senior Cup match at Priestfield.

Joe Martin will be looking to oust on-loan West Brom left-back Bradley Garmston after overcoming a calf injury.

Hamstring strains keep Amine Linganzi and Aaron Morris out of the squad but Danny Galbraith could claim a place on the bench if he shakes off a toe injury.
