A stunning volley from Bradley Dack was the highlight as Gillingham won 2-1 at National League Bromley on Tuesday night.

Dack added to Ben Williamson's strike as Justin Edinburgh's side opened up a two-goal lead at half-time.

Bromley pulled a goal back through Brad Goldberg with 10 minutes left.

The visitors threatened inside five minutes with ex-Gills keeper Alan Julian producing a smart save after John Egan swooped to get his head to Dack's low corner.

Goldberg wasted a decent chance for Bromley after Alex Wall cut inside and fed his strike partner on the edge of the box.

Gills were in front on 15 minutes as Dack stole the ball off Max Porter's toe midway in the Bromley half and played in Williamson who finished neatly.

Chelsea loanee Jordan Houghton lit up the half with his range of passing but was trumped by Dack, whose wonder goal doubled Gills' lead on 30 minutes.

Collecting the ball on the edge of the box, he flicked it over one defender's head and then another before crashing home a brilliant volley into the top corner.

Bromley should have pulled a goal back after Egan was caught out at the end of the first half but Wall sent the ball out of the ground.

The National League side were in again just after the break when Wall found Louis Dennis in space but Houghton showed another string to bow by getting back to snuff out the chance.

Anthony Cooke finished weakly from Goldberg's cross on the hour while Dack fired wide at the other end following a one-two with Williamson.

Bromley probably had too many chances for Gills' liking and went close with 20 minutes left when Cooke found Goldberg who bent an effort on to the roof of the net.

They finally pulled a goal back on 80 minutes with Goldberg dinking the ball into the corner when found in space by Ali Fuseini.
