Dover asking price for Ricky Miller is unrealistic says Gillingham manager Justin Edinburgh

Gillingham boss Justin Edinburgh likes the look of Dover hot-shot Ricky Miller but not the price-tag.

Dover are likely to want a substantial six-figure fee for their talisman, who has already netted 22 goals this season.

Miller is out of contract in the summer, however, at which time he could leave Dover for nothing.

Gills’ League 1 rivals Peterborough have already confirmed their interest in the 27-year-old striker, while National League Forest Green and Lincoln City are also keen.

When asked about the striker, Edinburgh said: “We have watched Ricky on numerous occasions. I like him.

“The price tag that is bounded around for him I think is unrealistic, but Dover are in a very good position to be looking for that.

“They got good money for Sean Raggett of late and have had a good cup run, TV money, in and around promotion, so they might even hang onto him.

“He is out of contract at the end of the season and we are fully aware of him.”

Dover chairman Jim Parmenter recently said: “Ricky is not for sale. He is under contract at this club and is a big part of our push to promotion this season.

“We would not consider selling Ricky to a club at our level and believe if and when he finally moves on it will be to a big club with good league pedigree.”
