Gillingham manager Justin Edinburgh is hopeful that Aaron Morris, Stuart Nelson and Josh Wright will agree new deals to stay at Priestfield

Justin Edinburgh is confident of concluding deals for a trio of last season’s players in the coming days.

The Gills boss will then start the recruitment process in what could be a busy summer on the transfer front.

Edinburgh believes Aaron Morris, Stuart Nelson and Josh Wright are all likely to re-sign, which would take Gillingham’s senior playing numbers to 11, including hot-property Bradley Dack.

The manager said: “We sat down over the last few days, myself and the chairman, to discuss the terms.

“He will be speaking to the players and their representatives and hopefully get them concluded. I am pretty confident in all of them.

“They know us, they know the club and they know what we are trying to do here. They have been a part of it and hopefully we can get them concluded sooner rather than later.”

Edinburgh will also hope to have youngsters such as Emmanuel Osadebe, Elliot List and Tom Hadler signed up but it would still leave him needing seven or eight fresh faces as he looks to run with a first team squad of 18-19.

Pro deals are also on the table for teenagers Mitchell Dickenson, Greg Cundle and Darren Oldaker.
