Chatham Town assistant manager Peter Hawkins sees three points against Tilbury as a must

Chatham Town are venturing into must-win territory.

Another defeat last weekend leaves them dangerously close to the Ryman League, Division 1 North drop zone.

Assistant boss Peter Hawkins knows now is the time for the side to start performing. On Saturday they travel to Tilbury.

Hawkins said: “It’s a big game and we need to perform. We need three points and we can’t be picking up anything less. It is must-win. We can’t think it will happen next week or the week after.”

He added: “We don’t want to be down there at the end of the season needing a win.

“We’ve got 16 games left and we could do with nine more wins to make sure we are safe. The lads are capable of that.”

Chatham head into the game on the back of a 4-1 defeat at Redbridge last weekend.
