Gillingham goalkeeper Tomas Holy tipped for bright future by boss Ady Pennock

Gills head coach Ady Pennock believes keeper Tomas Holy could soon be the target of top sides if his performances continue as they are.

Holy made several top saves on Tuesday night to help the Gills earn a point at AFC Wimbledon.

The big Czech keeper has quickly overcome a rocky start to the season, securing his place as the club’s first-choice in goal.

Pennock, speaking after Tuesday’s game, said: “He was fantastic, top drawer. He is learning the language and how to play football in this country and he has fantastic tools.

“He came in and got a bit of stick because Stuart Nelson has been a fans’ favourite
here.

“We are looking to the future. If Tomas Holy keeps playing the way he has done, then there will be people watching him. Because of his size, he kicks well and saves well.

“We have Steve Arnold and Nels and Tom Hadler is doing unbelievably well at Gloucester. We have a wealth of good keepers. I am pleased for Tomas, he is a good lad.”
