Gillingham are hoping to bounce back with a win against MK Dons

Home wins are a must now for Gillingham if they are to claim an unlikely play-off spot.

They didn't lose any ground on the top six last weekend, despite defeat at Bradford, but games are running out.

Six of their final nine games, starting with MK Dons tonight (Thursday), are at home.

Looking ahead to the visit of the Dons, boss Steve Lovell said: "We have got to win the game. We've got to win if we have any aspiration of doing anything this year, regarding being in the top six, seven or eight. We have to win our home games.

"If we win our six home games it puts us in a lovely position at the end of the year so that is obviously the aim.

"We want to finish on a high and after all of the hard work the players have done and what we have done as a club to get where we are now, we want to finish the season strong and see where we end up, then we can build for next year

"It is a challenge for us and a great opportunity. We would have loved to have been in this position back in October (when Lovell took over with the team second bottom) but we are in it now so let's make it count.
