Liam was snapped up by the Gills in the summer of 2017 after scoring 37 goals for non-league Maldon & Tiptree the previous season. He bagged 87 goals over three seasons before Ady Pennock handed him a pro contract. He was working on a building site before moving to Priestfield. He struggled to get a game under boss Steve Lovell and went on loan at Bostik Premier Leatherhead.
