Justin Edinburgh is hoping to find a way of fitting Jermaine McGlashan into his team’s way of playing.

McGlashan was played in an attacking midfield role on Tuesday night at Birmingham, sitting in behind the front two strikers.

The winger has yet to start a game in League 1 and although manager Edinburgh feels McGlashan can be a useful member of the squad, he’s still looking to find the best way of using him.

“He did all right,” said manager Justin Edinburgh, when asked about his view on McGlashan’s midweek performance.

“He was a bit industrious and perhaps didn’t go as well as he would like. One or two things just didn’t go for him.

“He is a dangerous player and we need to find a role within the new system and new shape and we wanted to have a look at him there.

“He has got quick feet and can hurt people but perhaps it didn’t quite come off for him.

“Early doors he did threaten and had an impact but we didn’t build on that.”
