Regional qualifying for The Open Championship takes place on Monday.

Sevenoaks’ Wildernesse Golf Club hosts the first stage of the qualifiers with players looking to secure their place in the final round at Deal’s Royal Cinque Ports course on June 30.

Three qualifying places for the 144th Open at St Andrews are up for grabs.

The Open Qualifying Series consists of 14 events in nine countries.

A number of Kent players will be hoping to book their place at St Andrews.

Langley Park’s Josh Waters and Chart Hills’ Mark Collins are the first to tee off on Monday at 7am.

Rochester & Cobham Park’s Lloyd Campbell goes out at 7.22am along with David Green, who will be hoping to take advantage of playing on his home course.

The Open itself takes place at St Andrews from July 16-19.
