Gillingham will have to make changes for the visit of Doncaster Rovers this Saturday

Luke O’Neill is a doubt this weekend after limping out of action on Monday.

The defender pulled his groin in the first half at Southend and was taken off shortly after the second started.

“He is going to be struggling,” confirmed Gills boss Steve Lovell.

Gillingham will also be without captain Lee Martin, following a red card at Southend. The Gills have decided against an appeal and he’ll be suspended for four games.

Callum Reilly is expected to be fit again, however, after missing the last two games through injury.

There was a first appearance on the bench for January signing Rhys Murphy at Southend and those on the fringes, like Franck Moussa, could soon see home action.

“I want to have a look at them,” Lovell said.

“I want to assess them and give them a chance like I have done with Navid Nasseri. Callum Reilly should be fit for Saturday so he comes into it. Billy Bingham is coming back.

“I also have Alex Lacey who missed out (on Monday) because I had what I needed on the bench.”
