Chairman Paul Scally has apologised over the late arrival of the club’s replica home shirts.

Mr Scally said in his programme notes on Saturday that he took “full responsibility” for low stock of the kit.

Some fans were left disappointed when they turned up at 9am on Saturday to buy their replica kit.

Foreseeing the problems, Mr Scally said: “I am aware that stocks of home shirts are not as we would have liked at this moment. Whilst I take full responsibility for this and indeed apologise to supporters, we are all working hard to increase our stocks asap, in fact deliveries are arriving on a regular basis at present.”

Mr Scally’s decision to change the kit fabric in March was the reason behind the late arrival.

He added: “I’m sorry to those that haven’t been able to buy a shirt today (Saturday). I’m certain you’ll be pleased with the product when you receive it.”
