Frank Lampard and bonding with the fans - The Shouting Men: Gillingham midfielder Josh Wright writes exclusively for the KM Group

It’s been a fantastic time for me here at Gillingham, with this bunch in the changing room and to top it off, the fans have been top drawer with me.

I am not just saying it because it has been a successful season but I have never quite had a bond with a set of fans like I have had here.

I was young and he knew the family. He voted me as player-of-the-week in the tournament and did some bits with me.

I was over in Dubai with him in the summer and we had some good chats. He did some bits to help me in terms of where I was going to go next.

I was talking about America and he was going out there but at the same time he advised me that it was probably best for me to stay in England.
