I’ve enjoyed my five months on loan with the Gills. Since the new gaffer’s come in, we’ve done well and we’re in ninth position.

When Justin Edinburgh first came in, people might not have expected that but now we’re there, we want to go even higher.

On a personal note, I think I’ve done all right. I know I can always do better but I feel like I’ve played some good football – as have all the boys.

Sometimes a change helps you in football. That can happen when a new manager comes in.

This gaffer has got us playing a certain way and credit to the four before – Hessy and that lot – because they gave us a platform. The new gaffer’s let us carry that on and it’s been good.

Justin’s changed little things like turning the opposition early, pressing higher than we had done previously and he’s tinkered with different formations. He’s let Bradley Dack have a free role behind the strikers and that gives us an attacking edge.

We’re playing to what we’ve got now. We’ve got certain players and use them well, people like Jermaine McGlashan on the wing.

QPR have loaned me out to five different clubs since 2009 and Gillingham has probably been my favourite loan move because of the way we’ve played – the boys, manager, staff, everything.

I’ve played 27 games since arriving in November and it’s put me in good stead, depending on what happens next year.

These loan moves have been massive for me. Every youngster should go out and get experience before they go into their first-team. It’s vital that you go and play in front of fans and get that match experience.

Playing in development games at your parent club is completely different. They try to recreate it but an under-21 game’s nothing like a real first-team game. Tackles are harder and everything’s faster.
