Dickenson was used in a variety of positions for the Gills during his time at Priestfield, starting last season as a left wing-back.

He surprisingly kept Bradley Garmston out of the side early on, with some energetic displays down the left side, before eventually losing form.

The 23-year-old was originally signed by former boss Peter Taylor from Brighton as a forward.

Dickenson played 67 times for the Gills in the league over the previous two seasons but 29 of those were from the bench.
