Kevin Watson has made no plans for next season – as the Chatham Town boss is waiting to see if he still has the job first.

Chats finished the Ryman League, Division 1 North campaign with a 5-0 defeat against champions Needham Market at Maidstone Road last Saturday.

The defeat – their 23rd in 46 league games – saw Watson’s side finish just two points above the relegation zone.

Watson said it was now a matter of waiting to see how his season’s review with the board goes next week.

He said: “That meeting will decide where the club needs to go and in what direction. There is no point anyone discussing it before then. Everyone needs to take a step back and reflect on what has been a long season.

“There is no point jumping in when the season has just finished and that’s what we are going to do – wait until next week.

“I don’t see why I can’t do the job again. I’d certainly like the opportunity to right the wrongs from this season.

“But what I want, I might not get. I don’t have the final say. It could be out of my hands."
