Large parts of Medway hit by power cut
Comments |
Large swathes of Medway were hit
by a power cut this afternoon.
EDF spokesmen said the problem, which
occured at about 3.05pm, stemmed from the National
Grid.
There have been reports of Rochester,
Strood and Gillingham all being affected by the blackout with
traffic lights turning off.
Power was returned after about 15
minutes. It is as yet unclear what caused the power cut.
A spokesman for the National Grid, said:
"There was a short loss of supply from Kingsnorth
substation, supplying the Medway area.
"We apologise for any inconvenience
and a full investigation into the cause will follow."
