Truck rolls in roundabout smash

A tanker crashed on the A289 on the Strood roundabout above the Wainscott bypass

A lorry driver had to be cut from the cab of his tanker after it rolled over on a Medway roundabout today.

The unnamed driver was removed from the wreck by a Strood fire and rescue team.

He was flown to Medway Maritime Hospital with serious injuries.

The accident happened on the A289 on the Rochester roundabout above the Wainscott bypass.

The articulated tanker was carrying liquid additives for use in the food industry.

Rescuers said there was no danger from the cargo

It is understood no other vehicle was involved.

    When are these lorry drivers going to learn? How many times to they tip over due ONLY to the fact that they are taking the turn FAR too fast? It's a miracle no-one else was hurt. This driver should have his licence removed until he has further training.
