Two men and a teenager have today admitted their involvement in a £50,000 robbery on a security van in Strood.

George Brockett, 25, of Mangold Way, Erith, Michael McCluskey, also 25, of Brinkburn Close, Abbey Wood, and 18-year-old Alfie Barker, also of Mangold Way, Erith, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob between August 2011 and September this year.

Their arrests followed a raid at an Esso petrol station in Cuxton Road just before noon on September 19.

During the hearing at Maidstone Crown Court, McCluskey and Barker also admitted having an imitation firearm, namely an article resembling a sawn-off shotgun, to commit robbery on September 19.

Brockett, formerly of Ivy Close, Gravesend, denied the same charge and is expected to stand trial on February 18.

McCluskey and Barker were told by Judge Michael Carroll they will be sentenced at the conclusion of those proceedings.

All three were remanded in custody.
