Status Quo to return to the Rochester Castle Concerts
Britain's
best-loved rockers, Status Quo, will return to the Castle Concerts
in Rochester as part of their summer tour.
Featuring founder members Francis
Rossi and Rick Parfitt, the Quo are now celebrating five decades in
the music business, with more hit singles than any other band and
the second most chart albums.
It will be the fourth time the band
have appeared in Medway, following appearance in 2010, 2008 and
2005.
Tickets quickly sold out for their
last appearance, when thousands of fans packed the Castle Gardens
and rocked to the sounds of Down Down, Caroline and Rockin’ All
Over The World.
This time around they will be
kicking off the series of concerts on Wednesday, July 17. Tickets,
which cost £35, will go on sale at 10am on Monday.
Cllr Howard Doe, who is in charge
of community services at Medway Council, said: “Status Quo remain
one of the most popular acts ever to perform at the concerts, and
they always create an amazing atmosphere in the Castle Gardens.
"Tickets always sell out very fast,
so I would remind anyone hoping to go along not to leave it too
late.”
This year’s concerts line-up also
includes the ever popular Castle Proms on Saturday, July 20.
The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and special guests
will once again perform a rousing selection of flag-waving
favourites including Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia and the
1812 Overture, complete with a stunning fireworks display. Tickets
cost £30.
More acts performing at this year’s
Castle Concerts will be announced soon.
Tickets for both concerts are
available in person at the Central Theatre box office and the Brook
Theatre box office in Chatham, the Medway Visitor Information
Centre in Rochester High Street, by phone on 01634 338338, or from
www.thecastleconcerts.co.uk
