Chatham man Glebs Konovalos charged with murder bid after stabbing in Bryant Street
A young man has been remanded in custody accused of trying to murder another man in a stabbing in Chatham.
The victim, believed to be in his late 20s, was left fighting for his life following an assault at the weekend.
Detectives have now charged a 22-year-old man, from Chatham, on suspicion of attempted murder.
Glebs Konovalos, 22, of Prospect Row, Chatham, appeared before Medway magistrates today charged with attempted murder and assault on a woman.
He was remanded to appear at Maidstone Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on December 20.
It comes after police were called to Bryant Street at 9am on Sunday to reports a man had been assaulted and left with serious injuries.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition, but is today described as being stable.
Witnesses said armed officers, forensics and police dogs swarmed the scene and the Kent Air Ambulance landed in a nearby school.
