Invicta Dynamos forward Ryan Ellis can silence internet critics, says Kevin Parrish

Ryan Ellis can make a few
people eat their words this weekend, claims Invicta Dynamos coach
Kevin Parrish.
Despite being Dynamos’ leading
points scorer with 41 in 21 games, including a six-goal starring
role in Sunday’s 13-5 rout of the Streatham Redskins, the
26-year-old Canadian has yet to win over all the Mos faithful in
his first season in English ice hockey.
Parrish (pictured), preparing for
Sunday’s home game with second-placed Chelmsford Chieftains, said:
"Ryan has come in for a bit of criticism on the fans’ forum, but
there’s no doubt he’s got unbelievable talent and skill.
"He may be lacking a little in
fitness and consistency, but you’ve only got to look at where he’s
come from to see his pedigree.
"He was in the All-American college
side two years running, which is an incredible achievement, and he
can shut a few people up with a good performance against
Chelmsford."
Dynamos might well need another big
contribution from Ellis against a Chelmsford side who have already
beaten them four times in five matches this season.
"For some reason we just seem to
fold against Chelmsford," admitted Parrish,."I don’t know if it’s
anything to do with the system they play.
"Dynamos are on fire in front of
goal at the moment, having scored 39 goals in their past four
league games, but Chelmsford – four points behind leaders Romford
Raiders with a game in hand – are a different proposition from
teams like Streatham.
Dynamos had worried they would be
without Parrish’s guidance for Sunday night as his wife, Sarah, was
overdue with their second child.
New son Isaac was born on Thursday
morning and the coach is expected to be at Sunday’s match.
