Chatham Town manager Kevin Watson concerned about his side's lack of goals

By Steve Tervet
Goals have dried up at Maidstone Road and Chatham manager Kevin
Watson has promised to ring the changes ahead of Saturday's game
against lowly Ware.
Chatham created little in Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat to Witham, a
result which came three days after their goalless draw with
Soham.
Watson’s side have only found the net three times in their last
five outings and lie 13th in Ryman League Division 1 North.
The Chatham boss (pictured) said: "To win games, you need to
score goals. The opposition goalkeepers in the last two games won’t
have had many easier games this season.
"We can work on it in training but it’s the mentality, to shoot
and get the ball into dangerous areas. We’ve made that clear to the
players but they don’t seem to be taking it on board."
Jack Jeffery, Lee Hales, Matt Newman and Corey Holder all
expected to return to the squad. Ware are kept off the bottom of
the table only by goal difference. However, the Chatham boss knows
his side will not pick up a positive result unless they raise their
game.
He said: "It’s only a good game to have if we apply ourselves.
Otherwise, we’ll find ourselves not getting another result. There’s
no team that poor that you’re guaranteed goals against them."
