Invicta Dynamos hit by netminding woes as Mustang David Jackson steps into the breech in a mixed weekend of results

Invicta Dynamos held on to fourth place in NIHL South Division 1
– despite being troubled by more netminding issues.
The Mos won 5-2 at Bracknell Hornets but played the final period
with defenceman Jack Tarczycki, pictured, in goal.
Last week’s dismissal of first choice David Wride led to the Mos
calling upon former netminder Andy Moffat once again and he started
Saturday’s game against Bracknell but failed to show for the final
session after picking up a knee injury.
By then the Mos were 5-1 up, thanks to goals from Andy Smith
(2), Justin Noble, Arran Strawson and Tarczycki.
But when netminder Moffat was downed by a high shot to his knee,
the Mos were in trouble as they had no back-up. Blue liner
Tarczycki answered the SOS and conceded just once after facing 12
shots.
Moffat remained out for Sunday when the Mos hosted
high-flying Wightlink Raiders and went down 5-4.
Invicta – with netminder David Jackson being called-up from
the Mustangs – had rallied late in the game, trailing 3-1 at the
end of the second period, but were unable to add to the points they
had gained the previous day.
Goals were scored by Noble, Peter Vaisanen, Smith and Callum
Fowler.
