Invicta Dynamos want to start their Christmas party early against Streatham Redskins on Sunday.
Secret Santa and Christmas jumpers will have to wait, though, with the Mos needing a win to keep their NIHL South Division 1 title hopes on track. A single point covers the league’s top four sides, so the final round of fixtures before the mid-season break could be crucial.
Dynamos head coach Kevin Parrish said: “It just proves that anyone can beat anyone.
“The standard gets higher every year and this season it’s come on leaps and bounds. Teams that weren’t so good have picked up a couple of players.
“We need this break. We’ve played a lot of games and done a lot of travelling. We need these two weeks to get away from each other and come back with a new lease of life because we’ve got a league title to win.”
Dynamos have already played Streatham twice in the Southern Cup this season, drawing 3-3 away and winning 7-2 at home.
Parrish said: “It’ll be hard work. They’ve had their ups and downs this season. They want to make their home a fortress and want to start winning away. But I hope we can win our last game before Christmas.
“I want a party atmosphere afterwards because it’s Christmas time. All the boys will be wearing silly jumpers and they’re doing Secret Santa.
Face-off at Silver Blades is at 5.15pm.
