The annual walk to school mini festival is being staged on Saturday, May 16 at Dane John Gardens, Canterbury. Tickets are free but must be booked in advance as they are in limited supply.

Buster’s Big Bash is run by the KM Charity Team to celebrate its successful green travel and literacy work with schools across the county.

A highlight of the event is a double record attempt to create the largest walk to school ‘crocodile’ to walk through a Kent street and biggest teddy bears’ picnic.

Activities will include pedal go karts from Atlantis Entertainment, a beat the goalie contest run by Canterbury Eagles Under 8’s football team, hoopla with Independent Music Productions, and mask making with Anna Bell from Westgate Gardens, as well as balloon modelling and a Punch and Judy show.

There will also be a treasure hunt on a red double decker bus supplied by YMS, and Kent Fire and Rescue will once again provide a fire engine for the event.

Musical entertainment will come from last year’s KM Walk to School Song Contest finalists who will give a group singing performance from the bandstand.
