There is something for everyone at the family-friendly KM Charity Walk taking place this Sunday, June 25. Hundreds of walkers will be stepping out just for fun or to support their favourite charity as they follow a relaxed five-mile route or a more challenging 10-mile option, both offering stunning views of Kent countryside.

Participating children will enjoy fun challenges set by the Kent Wildlife Trust as they go, including a Nature Detective worksheet and Scavenger Hunt to earn special badges at the finish line.

Each walker will collect stamps from stamping stations along the way to exchange for a goody bag and souvenir medal on completion of the walk. Representatives from the European School of Osteopathy will also be on hand to treat participants to free massages.

The biggest individual charity fundraiser will receive a mixed case of 24 bottles of delicious Kent juice donated by Chegworth Valley Juice.

The walk is followed by a summer fayre and food festival including barbecue and drinks plus live music from The Acoustic Tones. Stall holders include the Bounce Network which will be giving money saving advice to families and offering the chance to win a Spa Break at Champneys.

The KM Charity Walk is organised by the KM Charity Team and backed by Glosrose Group, Gullands Solicitors, Mote House Audley, Maidstone Ramblers, Simply Ice Cream, Kent Cider, The Spud Hut, Hush Heath Winery, and The Woodstove Trading Company.

Event organiser Sophie Wallace of the KM Charity Team said: “This is a lovely gentle way to raise money for charity and enjoy superb views with your family or a group of friends or colleagues.”

She added: “Make sure you celebrate your achievement by sticking around for our summer fayre. You can enjoy delicious food, drink, ice creams and more in the sunshine while children can visit the Kent Wildlife Trust stall to make art with nature.”

An adult ticket costs £11.50 and kids go free when you book in advance online HERE. Or participants are welcome to turn up on the day at a cost of £15 per adult, £2 per child, or £30 for a family ticket for two adults and up to two children.

Non-participants of the KM Charity Walk are able to attend the summer fayre from 11.30am at a cost of £1 per person and purchase refreshments at the food festival.

Check in for the KM Charity Walk is between 8am and 10am at Grade II listed Georgian mansion Mote House, Maidstone. The walk officially begins at 9am.
