Riders can saddle up for any good cause of their choice or just for fun at the event which is being hosted by the BayPoint Club. The venue is also holding a free Green Travel Festival on the same day for cyclists, spectators and families.

Sam Perkins, sports manager at BayPoint, said: “What I love about the KM Big Bike Ride is that it doesn’t support just one charity, it supports nearly 50! We are delighted to host the 2015 event as we feel our facilities and location are a perfect start and finish point for all those brave riders.

“For all taking part and the welcome spectators too, we shall be hosting the Green Travel Festival. There will be live music, all-day BBQ and hog roast, activities for children and plenty of local sports groups and charities promoting their great work.”

Participants can use an early bird booking discount code and choose from a 50km or 100km route both taking in stunning East Kent coastline and countryside.

Event organiser Julia Williamson of the KM Charity Team said: “This is a fun day out not to be missed and an excellent way to support your favourite cause.

“Once again we’ve organised two routes so that more people have the chance to take up the challenge – there’s really no better excuse to dust off your saddle!”

The KM Big Bike Ride is organised by the KM Charity Team and supported by Vattenfall and Locks of Sandwich Cycles. Cyclists will follow a circular route starting from the Baypoint Club in Sandwich.

The 100km route takes in great swathes of coastline from Dover to Reculver as well as idyllic countryside.

To book, visit www.kmbigbikeride.co.uk or call Julia Williamson on 0844 2640291. Riders must be aged 16 or over. Use the code KMPRBB15 for a £5 booking discount.
