Entries for the KM Kent Cooks competition received during the summer holidays will go into a prize draw. One lucky winner will get four child passes to Leeds Castle, a family ticket to Silver Blades and a Build A Bear voucher.

Nancy Clark of KM Kent Cooks said: “Cooking is a great way to beat the boredom during the holidays so why not submit your child’s Kent Cooks entry?

“All entrants need to do is create a healthy recipe, take a photograph of the dish and upload the picture to the Kent Cooks website. But you must enter before the end of the summer holidays to go into the prize draw.”

Kent Cooks is the county’s official school cookery contest for five to 18 year olds. Categories include ‘families’ for parent-and-child entries, ‘primary school’ and ‘secondary school’.

The deadline for entries is November 4.

A Masterchef-style final will be staged on November 27 at East Kent College to see which young chefs cut the mustard.

Kent Cooks is sponsored by DFDS Seaways, Mini Babybel, Three R’s Teacher Recruitment, Southern Water, Kent Cookery School, Golding Homes, Orbit and Brakes.
