A stack of the latest toys will help boost fundraising activities for 10 events organised by the KM Charity Team in 2018. This will mark the sixth consecutive year that Hornby’s classic collectables will be distributed as raffle prizes at the four heats of the annual KM Big Charity Quiz. The toy company will also support events including the Kent Teacher of the Year Awards and Kent Literacy Awards.

The biggest donations are a Le Mans Porsche 911 Scalextric Set that retails at £220 and Thomas the Tank Engine Passenger and Goods Train Set worth £110.

Ami Dennis-Stirrups of Hornby said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with the KM Charity Team for ten major events in 2018. These are important local events and we are pleased to provide support.”

The remaining raffle donations include an £85 British Touring Car Champions Set, a Santa’s Express Christmas Train Set worth £55, a Boeing Fortress MK.III model kit costing £31, and a Gloster Meteor F8 Korean War model kit and a Hornby Junior Express Train Set worth £40 each.

Simon Dolby, chief executive of the KM Charity Team, said: “Hornby have donated a bumper haul of prizes. Their support is one of the reasons the KM Big Charity Quiz has been so successful as an event and effective at raising funds for Kent causes. We are thrilled Hornby have extended their generosity even further to include our work with schools.”

KM Big Charity Quiz events are staged in Maidstone, Medway, Canterbury, and Ashford to support the good causes selected to be KM Charity of the Year. The final heat of this year will be staged at Maidstone Leisure Centre on Friday, November 17 and raise funds for Leybourne Grange Riding Centre for the Disabled. Teams of up to eight will compete for a range of prizes and the KM Big Charity Quiz Trophy. To book, visit www.kmbigquiz.co.uk or click this link HERE and use the discount code KMNEWS17.
