Three R’s Teacher Recruitment agency is supporting the county’s official school cookery contest, which aims to find the most talented young chefs of the future.

KM Kent Cooks invites pupils across Kent aged five to 18 years to test their culinary skills for the chance to take part in a Masterchef-style cook off and win top prizes.

Amy Woods of Three R’s Teacher Recruitment said she was proud to be a part of Kent Cooks. “Not only is it fun for schools and families to participate but it also encourages healthy food, teamwork, learning new skills, and a sense of achievement for the children involved,” she said.

Staged by the charity department at the KM Group to promote healthy lifestyles, categories include primary school pupils, secondary students and a family category for adult and child teams.

The category winners and overall top Kent Cook will receive a share of £500 as well as a goody bag and Masterchef cook book.

Organiser Julia Williams of Kent Cooks said: “It’s all about encouraging young people to think creatively about food, healthier options and the variety of Kentish produce available.”

To enter the contest, young cooks must submit photographs of their signature dishes along with descriptions of cooking method to the Kent Cooks website before the November 4 deadline.

Shortlisted entries will be invited to compete at a live final on November 27 when category winners and the overall KM Kent Cooks champion will be announced.

Kent Cooks is also supported by Countrystyle, Mini Babybel, VooServers, DFDS Seaways, Kent Cookery School, Golding Homes, Orbit South, Brakes, Carefree Communications, Southern Water and Licensing Consultancy Services.
